Tree removal can be defined as the act of removing a tree or trees. It implies complete destruction of the tree and its matter and disposal of materials. The process of tree removal has various names like chopping down, pruning, and trimming etc. and is generally done by commercial or industrial/businesses. Sometimes homeowners also remove their trees for aesthetic or health reasons.
The cost of tree removal depends on a number of factors like type of tree, size and height of trees, location, and the amount of damage or destruction involved. Some of the factors which increase the tree removal cost are: if it is an invasive species, the extent to which it can spread, its age, its shape and its composition (like it's wood, branches, foliage, bark, resin, decay resistance, soil condition). The overall volume of the felled trees and the distance and area over which they have fallen are other important considerations. If the tree removal is done for commercial or legal purposes, the quantity and kind of tree and its proximity to the site are decisive factors. There are two kinds of tree removal - one is the 'easy' process and the other is 'hard'. In easy tree removal, which includes stump grinding and uprooting, the area is cleared, the stump cut down to reasonable lengths and either the ground is packed or covered. Stump grinding involves the removal of the stump through mechanical devices, and the roots are removed. Owing to their immense roots, pine and palm trees typically require more extensive steps to uprooting them. However, in case of a few varieties of conifers like cypress and spruce, simple stump grinding is sufficient. On the other hand, the hard tree removal involves cutting down the entire tree to a minimum 45 ft and is usually accompanied by digging and trenching the hole. Tree removal by power lines is also a difficult process, which needs more skillful handling. In this procedure, a high-powered electric current is used to remove the tree. Tree removal by power lines is often required for construction or demolition of buildings and structures. This can be done without any public approval if the procedure is strictly followed by the utility authorities, but an alternate procedure, tree removal by manual labor, is preferred where the tree has to be removed privately. A third procedure, that is sometimes used to remove large trees, involves using large trucks to remove trees (with stump extraction) or removing trees whose roots have grown too deep under the ground. Some of these methods may use bulldozers for tree removal. There are instances when the tree removal by truck is done using a crane or forklift. Some professional tree removal services are even capable of making use of very high-tech machines like the robotic tree choppers and tree busters. These machines are used in order to easily remove large trees without any damage to the surrounding area. Tree removal by raking or felling the stump is yet another commonly used method. A number of techniques are generally followed for this procedure: removing the whole stump; cutting it into pieces; or extracting the pieces. However, depending on the circumstances, different solutions may be applied for tree removal by raking. In case of small trees or young ones with only a few roots, it is usually easier to remove them by felling. However, in case of mature stumps, it will be necessary to remove the entire stump. Palm tree removal is another procedure which is used for tree removal and is done by professionals to get rid of the tree completely. For Palm trees, this mainly involves digging up the whole area and then pulling the roots along with it. This will allow you to easily access the root ball. If you are not interested in doing this procedure yourself, you can simply hire professionals to do this for you. However, if you want to get rid of your own palm trees, make sure that you hire experienced palm tree removal services from companies that have a good track record. Stump Grinding: Last but not least, there is another way to get rid of trees using stump grinding. In this method, a special device is used to grind the stump down until it is totally gone. This method is often used for getting rid of tree roots that are located underground, where digging is impossible. It is important to note that stump grinding is a dangerous technique, and is not advised to be attempted by beginners.
